Deutsche Grammophon artist and winner of the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition, pianist Seong-Jin Cho will make his Hawaiʻi debut on Friday, January 22, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. in a special solo recital presented by the Hawaiʻi Chamber Music Festival (HCMF) at the University of Hawaiʻi’s Mae Zenke Orvis Auditorium.
The recital serves as a special fundraising event supporting HCMF’s upcoming annual chamber music festival and tuition-free Young Artist Program, building momentum toward the organization’s 10th anniversary in 2028 and its next decade of bringing world-class music and transformative opportunities to Hawaiʻi’s young musicians.
“We’re delighted to welcome Seong-Jin to Honolulu and honored to present his Hawaiʻi debut,” said Chris Yick, Founder and President of the Hawaiʻi Chamber Music Festival. “An appearance of this caliber is only possible because of the tremendous support we receive from our community. We’re grateful to our supporters for helping us bring extraordinary artists like Seong-Jin to Hawaiʻi and share their artistry with audiences here at home.”
HCMF Artistic Director Stefan Jackiw added, “Seong-Jin is one of the world’s great pianists and a musician who inspires me deeply. I’m thrilled that audiences in Hawaiʻi will have the opportunity to experience his artistry in person.”
