Seong-Jin Cho makes his Hawaiʻi debut in a solo recital for one night only.

Winner of First Prize at the 2015 Chopin International Competition in Warsaw, the Deutsche Grammophon artist has become one of the most distinctive pianists of his generation, appearing with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Wiener Philharmoniker, and Boston Symphony Orchestra, and serving as the London Symphony Orchestra’s Artist Portrait for 2025/26. His playing is poetic, virtuosic, and colorful, with panache balanced by purity. Reviewing his Carnegie Hall recital in April 2026, Bachtrack wrote that “Cho’s elegant, expressively flexible playing was a constant joy throughout.” His Ravel recording for the composer’s 150th anniversary earned an Opus Klassik Award for the solo works.

Proceeds support HCMF’s tuition-free Young Artist Program.
