Origins
Stefan Jackiw made his first appearance as HCMF’s new Artistic Director with Origins. The cover of the festival booklet was designed by Mae White, marking HCMF’s first collaboration with Hawaiian artists.

Global Expressions
A celebration of the Masaki School’s 70th anniversary, Global Expressions also was HCMF’s inaugural year in its educational partnership with San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
